An Evening of Conversation with Peter Walker

 

Renowned landscape architect, author, and academic, Peter Walker, founder of PWP Landscape Architecture, is known for his inspired designs for parks, gardens, campuses, memorials and plazas worldwide.

His acclaimed projects include Harvard University鈥檚 Tanner Fountain, Cambridge, MA (the first institutional project in the 鈥淟andscape as Art鈥 movement); the Nasher Sculpture Garden, Dallas, TX; and the National 9/11 Memorial, New York, NY, which won the American Society of Landscape Architects  Honor Award in the General Design category in 2012. His personal awards are numerous and include Harvard鈥檚 Centennial Medal, the University of Virginia鈥檚 Thomas Jefferson Medal, the ASLA Design Medal, and the IFLA Sir Geoffrey Jellicoe Gold Medal.

In this interview with TCLF鈥檚 Charles Birnbaum which took place on March 31, 2014, Walker speaks about his extensive career, his professional achievements, landscape architecture and his influence on the profession at-large.
